Fruit Growers Tasmania Conference

With APAL’s Future Orchards program on 16 June in the Huon Valley, additional sessions have been added to provide a full day for pome producers, including a presentation on the national apple and pear marketing strategy by Lisa Troy of Hort Innovation and an orchard walk with Marcel Veens and Steve Spark from AgFirst.

The afternoon will host two breakout workshops for cherries and berries with a look at bayberry production, being ready for spotted wing drosophlia, predicting weather based risk for botrytis and monilinia and cherry soil health. Presenters are from across Australia as well as the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture.
