Join the nut industry Trade Advisory Panel

Hort Innovation is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for suitability qualified and experienced individuals to provide advice on nut related trade issues. These individuals will be appointed by Hort Innovation to a nut industry Trade Advisory Panel (niTAP) facilitated by Hort Innovation’s Trade Unit.

The nut industry Trade Advisory Panel (niTAP) is an advisory panel to Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) that undertakes to provide advice to Hort Innovation, and through Hort Innovation to government, in driving export outcomes for the combined nut industries through the consideration of trade issues of significance. niTAP will discharge these responsibilities through the experience of its expert members.  The panel meets via teleconference as required, and in person as deemed necessary by Hort Innovation. The panel will provide industry input into the consideration of trade issues pertaining to nuts by Hort Innovation and government.

The panel will provide commercially relevant advice to Hort Innovation, ensuring industry’s central role in providing input to inform Hort Innovation’s advice to government on a range of industry issues as they arise.

The panel will act as an industry advisory mechanism, providing commercially relevant information to Hort Innovation on a range of trade related matters as they arise. Specifically, the panel will provide advice on:

  • The identification of trade impediments for horticultural products including government and commercial restrictions;
  • Commercial viability of existing proposals;
  • Across-industry trade initiatives;
  • Recommendations for research programs to address the issues identified.
