Request for Proposal
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Virus and nematode diagnostic management for Sweet Potatoes (PW25001).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
Plant Protection Objectives:
- To ensure enhanced and ongoing virus diagnostic capacity, plant health and biosecurity monitoring
- Sequencing of sweet potato accessions to determine endemic viruses and improved diagnostics
- Quantify generational yield decline under Australian conditions
- Complete Sweet potato weevil population studies
- Complete Sweet potato disease management and identification
Nematode component
Field surveys of sweet potato production, including:
- Rotation/cover and new sweet potato variety resistance screening
- Assessment of M. javanica populations
- Plant parasitic nematodes at depth
