What was it all about?

In 2023, this project assisted retailers to improve the instore presentation (appearance and quality) of bananas by increasing the store produce staff’s understanding of best practice merchandising principles.

The project conducted in-store quality assessments of the banana displays, including evaluations against best practice merchandising principles to help improve the quality of displays and produce. The project team also educated store staff on the importance of well-merchandised product in line with best-practice guidelines to assist and grow sales outcomes.

The program also educated consumers on how to select bananas to reduce banana wastage along the supply chain.
