Macadamia industry innovation and adoption (MC20000)
This project delivered a national innovation and adoption program to support Australian macadamia growers through a period of rapid industry growth and increasing production and market pressure.
Ongoing project
Partnering with the Zero Net Emissions from Agriculture CRC for horticulture (HA24007)
Delivery Partner: Zero Net Emissions from Agriculture CRC
This investment supports horticulture's participation in the Zero Net Emissions from Agriculture Cooperative Research Centre (ZNE-Ag CRC), a national collaboration focused on helping Australian agriculture achieve net zero emissions by 2040 while continuing to grow productivity and profitability. Recognising that emissions reduction and business performance can go hand in hand, the CRC is developing practical, science-based solutions that deliver environmental, economic and social benefits for agricultural industries.
Through Hort Innovation's involvement, the horticulture sector will help shape and participate in research programs that address key industry priorities, including emissions reduction, sustainability, market access and supply chain performance. Hort Innovation will nominate industry representatives to advisory committees, ensuring horticulture perspectives help guide research activities and maximise industry impact.
The partnership is expected to support projects and extension activities throughout the life of the CRC, including demonstration trials, case studies, webinars, best practice resources and benchmarking tools. These outputs will help growers better understand emissions opportunities, adopt new technologies and practices, and position their businesses to meet evolving market, policy and sustainability expectations.
