What is it all about?
This project is supporting the development of Australia’s first National Pollination Strategy, bringing together industry, researchers and environmental organisations to improve pollination outcomes for agriculture and the environment.
The strategy will identify priority actions, research needs and best practices to strengthen biodiversity, food security and the long-term productivity of pollinator-dependent industries, including horticulture.
A key focus of the project is extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure the strategy reflects the needs and priorities of industry, researchers and environmental organisations. Deliverables include nationwide industry consultation, state-based forums, a steering committee to guide the process, and the development of a National Pollination Strategy accompanied by an implementation roadmap.
The project will provide a coordinated framework to support future investment, research and on-ground action that benefits both agriculture and the environment.
