This project is delivering a targeted international study tour to build leadership capability within the Australian horticulture industry. It will support a selected group of Australian grower leaders to attend the 2026 Global Produce & Floral Show, the world’s largest fresh produce industry event.
The program provides participants with direct exposure to global innovation, emerging technologies, supply chain developments and international market trends. Through structured engagement at the event and related activities, participants gain insights into how leading producers and businesses are responding to shared challenges such as productivity, labour, sustainability and market access.
Key activities include coordinated participation in the international event, facilitated learning opportunities, and structured reflection to ensure insights are relevant to Australian conditions. Participants are supported to share learnings with the broader industry through reports and other dissemination activities.
The project aims to strengthen leadership skills, strategic thinking and global awareness among Australian horticulture leaders. By building connections and bringing global knowledge back to Australia, the project supports informed decision making, innovation and long term industry resilience.
This project is funded through Hort Innovation's Frontiers program
