The macadamia industry benchmarking project (MC15005) found that industry average nut in shell production varies up to five-fold across different producers. This significant variation became a driving force for industry to attempt to gather information to develop consistent production across the board.
This project produced a series of integrated orchard management resources to support Australian macadamia growers, focussing on three key management areas: orchard floor, canopy and drainage.
The project team produced the following resources:
The above resources were extended to industry through field days, MacGroups and conferences to assist growers to run high-productivity orchards through integrated orchard management strategies.
This project was a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Macadamia Fund
