To help raise awareness of the benefits of green space and nursery products, this project, which ran from March 2014 to November 2015, engaged like-minded parties from local government and other industries – landscape, arboriculture, nursery – through the National Urban Forest Alliance.
A key driver of the project was the availability of the measurement tool i-Tree Eco, which uses field data to quantify urban forest structure, environmental effects, and environmental and economic value to communities.

The development of the National Urban Forest Alliance and some of the early outcomes have been recognised internationally. Awareness of the benefits of urban forests increased, and capacity in the area was boosted by collaborative activities and increased sharing of data.
This project was a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Nursery Fund
