This project is identifying critical knowledge gaps in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction and carbon sequestration across the Australian horticulture sector. It aims to inform future RD&E investment, enhance the sector’s climate readiness, and support alignment with national climate reporting obligations, such as Scope 3 emissions under the evolving financial disclosure reporting.

The intended outcomes include a consolidated evidence base to support investment decisions, clearer strategies tailored to industry needs and strengthened alignment with regulatory and market requirements.
The outcomes will benefit growers, industry bodies, RDCs, extension providers, and government agencies by improving access to emissions information and empowering practical, low-emission practice change.
