Generation of data - pineapple Hexazinone trials (ST25006)
This project is generating the scientific data needed to expand herbicide options for weed control in pineapples. It responds to an urgent industry need for additional, cost effective herbicides to manage weeds and reduce the risk of resistance.
The project will conduct field trials to generate efficacy, crop safety and residue data for the herbicide hexazinone. This data is required by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority to support applications for minor use permits and label extensions for use in pineapples.
Trials are designed to assess how effectively hexazinone controls key weed species, its safety to pineapple crops, and residue outcomes under Australian growing conditions. Results are collected, analysed and documented to meet regulatory requirements.
