What is it all about?

This project will support four Horizon scholarships funded through the onion levy, with the aim to attract talented university students to horticulture and encourage them to pursue careers within the industry after graduation.

The AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship is a nationally recognised leadership and professional development program for students in the final two years of an agriculture-related or relevant STEM degree. Scholarship recipients receive financial support, participate in professional development workshops, undertake industry work placements and build connections with leaders across Australia's agricultural sectors.

Through annual work placements and engagement with industry, participants will gain firsthand experience of the horticulture sector while applying their skills and knowledge in a practical setting. The program provides an important opportunity to showcase career pathways within horticulture and connect emerging professionals with businesses and industry leaders.
