Hort Innovation is working with scientists, industry and decision-makers from various agencies to co-design a nationally coordinated approach to market access research and capability.
This investment aims to secure a long-term partnership to undertake phytosanitary market access research to increase and protect domestic and international horticultural market access.
The project will work to:
- Develop a systematic and quantifiable approach to managing trade pathway risks
- Reduce the pressure of endemic pests through sustainable crop production practices
- Prepare Australia for exotic pest risks.
This project will build flexibility and capability by applying a programmatic, coordinated approach to Australia’s market access research, allowing Australian horticulture to adapt to changing biosecurity and market access conditions while balancing the fundamental and applied research needs to support Australian horticulture growth into the next decade.
The tender for this program is currently in-market. Watch this space for updates.
