Cherry communications program (CY15002)
What was it all about?
This program, which ran from 2016 to 2019, was focused on maintaining and improving strong communication with cherry growers and other industry stakeholders. It worked to supply timely industry news, R&D updates, marketing outcomes and other key information so that growers were able to make informed decisions as new opportunities and challenges arose.
A number of regular communication channels were produced and maintained by this investment, but were not limited to:
- The industry’s quarterly Cherry magazine, available in both print and electronic form suitable for desktop, mobile and tablet viewing. Click here to view issues online (select ‘browse issues’ at the bottom right of the page to navigate to different issues).
- The industry’s monthly Cherry Newsletter e-newsletter, with past editions available here.
- Videos communicating R&D project outputs, which included…
- A look at brown sugar flotation work conducted through the project Implementing brown sugar flotation (BSF) for assuring freedom of fruit from Qfly (CY16011)
- An overview of research into nitrogen use efficiency in cherry orchards – work that conducted through the Australian Government’s Rural R&D for Profit Program project More profit from nitrogen: enhancing the nutrient use efficiency of intensive cropping and pasture systems
- Looking at crop variability in cherries
- An overview of the project Australian cherry evaluation utilising precocious rootstocks (CY12024).
- A look at brown sugar flotation work conducted through the project Implementing brown sugar flotation (BSF) for assuring freedom of fruit from Qfly (CY16011)
The communications program was supported by the project Cherry communications support (CY16003), which provided funding to Cherry Growers Australia to facilitate work with the communication program’s external service provider.
This project was a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Cherry Fund
