MC22000 Mid-term review (MC24007)
What is it all about?
This project is evaluating the delivery activities, outputs, and the benefits and outcomes achieved through the levy-funded project “Macadamia industry benchmarking and industry sustainability insights 2022-2027 (MC22000)”. The goal is to assess the project’s progress for the Australian macadamia industry, providing an evidence-based foundation to guide the remaining delivery period to 2027.
The mid-term evaluation will determine the project’s effectiveness, merit, and impact to date, offering key recommendations to drive continuous improvement and ensure maximum benefit for the industry moving forward.
Challenge
As the macadamia industry adapts to emerging market opportunities and evolving best practices, it is crucial to evaluate the delivery and impact of MC22000. This timely, independent, mid-term evaluation will support continuous improvement by providing a comprehensive, value-based assessment of the f the factors that have and would continue to contribute to effectiveness, relevance, process appropriateness, and efficiency.
Response
The project team will undertake a concurrent approach to evaluating both the delivery and benefits of MC22000 to date before developing recommendations to optimise the remaining project delivery. Key activities include:
- Collaborating with Hort Innovation and the project delivery partner.
- Reviewing and analysing all project materials.
- Developing interview guides for stakeholder consultations.
- Conducting data analysis and synthesising evaluation findings.
- Preparing a detailed final report with actionable recommendations.
Benefit
The evaluation will equip Hort Innovation, project delivery stakeholders, the Macadamia Strategic Investment Advisory Panel (SIAP), and other industry stakeholders with a deeper understanding of the factors contributing to the project's success so far.
This process will generate new insights to refine the project's future delivery, including strategies to boost participation, enhance reporting formats, leverage grower groups and workshops, and improve communication materials. The findings will ensure that the remaining project term effectively addresses industry needs and optimises benefits for all stakeholders.
