Risk and crisis management planning for the olive industry (OL16011)
What was it all about?
This project was responsible for developing a comprehensive risk management and crisis preparedness and response plan for the Australian olive industry. The plan includes information and processes to ensure the industry is able to respond in an effective and responsible manner in the event of a crisis, such as environmental contamination, food safety concerns or supply chain issues.
The project team noted that the process of creating the plan also helped foster a proactive and preventative risk management approach, through the identification of potential risks to and in the industry, and the development of related management and mitigation strategies.
The industry had continued input into the plan and its risk register of issues, through industry workshops, online surveys and meetings. More information on the process and the plan available is in the June 2018 edition of the levy-funded R&D Insights.
