Australian potato exports
Potatoes reign as the largest horticulture industry in Australia in terms of production volume and hold the top spot as the largest vegetable industry in terms of production value. The potato sector has experienced robust growth, with support from exports, which have maintained stable volumes over the past five years.
Rich, buttery, and firm, Australian potatoes boast exceptional quality. Tasmania leads potato production with 31 per cent, closely followed by South Australia at 30 per cent. Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia also contribute to potato production, with 6, 11, 1 and 5 per cent respectively.
