Held from 6 - 8 August at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, the 2025 Australian Banana Industry Congress delivered a refreshed, future‑focused event that strengthened industry connections, showcased leading research and highlighted new opportunities for banana businesses.
Designed around a clear industry need for up‑to‑date R&D, market insights and practical business tools, Congress drew 370 delegates, including 75 banana growers, an uplift on previous attendance. Guided by a grower‑led committee and centred on the theme Recharge, Reconnect and Regenerate, the program balanced practical value with networking and community building.
Highlights included:
• A dedicated Science Symposium featuring cutting‑edge banana R&D
• A two‑day plenary program covering marketing, variety development, succession planning, workforce challenges and global TR4 insights
• Key networking events such as the Banana Women’s Luncheon and the Banana Ball
