Working with Hort Innovation, growers, researchers and industry partners, this initiative will provide leadership and coordination for banana research, development, extension and communication activities across the industry.  

The Australian banana industry continues to face a range of challenges that affect long-term productivity, profitability and sustainability. Meeting these challenges requires research and innovation that reflects industry priorities and responds to the needs of growers and other industry stakeholders.  

By improving how research is coordinated, this project will help ensure banana research investment is guided by industry priorities and delivers practical, accessible findings for growers. It will also support stronger collaboration across the industry and help growers and stakeholders make better use of new knowledge, contributing to a more productive, profitable and sustainable banana industry.
