Vegetable market price reports
Vegetable wholesale market price reports are a valuable resource to support vegetable growers to make more informed marketing decisions.
The Vegetable market price reporting pilot program (VG16084) brings you wholesale market price reports for ten key vegetable products twice a week for the two biggest trading days – Monday and Thursday – in addition to a monthly report.
The reports condense a wide range of market price data into an easy to read format to help vegetable growers understand short and long-term wholesale market price patterns between markets and product lines.
The reports utilise Freshlogic analysis of market prices recorded by Ausmarket Consultants, which are based on independent daily market interviews of wholesalers and buyers in each wholesale market.
The reports focus on market price reporting for general informational purposes. They are not intended to determine the actual price received by your wholesaler for your product.
This project has been funded by Hort Innovation using the vegetable research and development levy and funds from the Australian Government.
Latest bi-weekly reports
These reports are released every Monday and Thursday and report on the week to week movement of wholesale prices by market and product lines. The reports demonstrate the short term seasonal price movements over a 4-weekly cycle. In addition to average prices, high and low prices are reported to establish price variability.

Released at the end of each month, these reports detail longer term price trends. The reports include a three-year average monthly price for each month, in addition to the current year’s monthly price average and a rolling 3 month price forecast, based on observed price trends assuming comparable supply and demand conditions. The report also provides price analysis on the market prices according to the state of origin.
