This project investigated the effect of weather events in the orchard on the success of pollination at time of flowering. It used grower-based trials to gather on-farm data in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales (Newrybar, Knockrow, Rosebank, Alstonville Plateau and Tregeagle).

Benchmarking the macadamia industry 2015-18

Status: Ongoing project
This project supplies on-farm benchmarking information for the macadamia industry. By collecting planting, production, quality and other data and analysing trends across the industry, its ultimate goal is to allow informed decision-making and help facilitate improved farm productivity and profitability for macadamia growers and other stakeholders.

Macadamia Strategic Investment Plan 2017-2021
The Macadamia Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) will help guide Hort Innovation’s oversight and management of investment programs for the macadamia industry over the next five years. It lays the foundation for decision-making in levy investments and represents the balanced interests of the industry. The very important function of the SIP is to ensure levy investment decisions align with industry priorities.
The SIP was developed through a process of consultation, drafting, validation, stakeholder feedback as well as final approval by Hort Innovation’s Board. The process involved consultation meetings (detailed below) and online validation, giving macadamia growers opportunity to provide input and feedback.
