This project updated the Lychee pest and disease handbook, a resource that assists lychee growers and industry stakeholders to effectively monitor and manage pests and diseases in their orchards.

This across-industry investment is responsible for producing Hort Innovation’s annual Australian Horticulture Statistics Handbook.

Treatment for mites on lychee fruit prior to irradiation for improved market access (LY16002)

This project explored parraffinic oil and fruit washing as an effective approach to removing mites and micro insect pests prior to export of lychees.

Mite and insect disinfestation of lychee fruit using high pressure water sprays (LY18000)

This investment investigated how to optimise the use of high-pressure water to remove surface pests on lychees.

This investment was tasked with developing individual export strategies for a range of tropical commodities, feeding into an overarching export strategy for Australian tropical fruit.

US market access project (LY15001)

A pilot program for exporting lychees to the United States of America was run under this investment, which also produced export resources for growers.

Autonomous perception systems for horticulture tree crops (AH11009)

This robotics and mechanisation investment contributed to the development of sensing technologies/algorithms, trialed in autonomous perception ground vehicles (the Shimp and Mantis robots).
